Simple French Toast

I love it when leftovers can be turned into the stars of the show.

I bought a big BIG loaf of french bread earlier this week to go with chili night. It sat in the kitchen getting stale for two nights, and this morning I had the brilliant idea to made French Toast.

I'm no connoisseur of it, but I figured I had milk, eggs, and some spices to go along. Check! This easy recipe took only a few minutes, and worked well!

What ya need:
6 slices thick bread
2 eggs
2/3 cup milk
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp sugar
Dash of Salt

What ya do:
Beat together egg, milk, spices, sugar, salt and vanilla
Heat a lightly oiled griddle over medium high

Soak each slice of bread in liquid mixture. Place each piece on hot griddle.

Cook until golden brown on both sides.
Serve with fresh fruit and/or syrup.
Easy-as-pie. Well, probably easier. Enjoy!!
