Pizza, again?
Yes. Want to know why? I wanted to make dough. Yes, I know, trivial. But, for me, and my pretty new kitchen appliance, pizza was a sure shot. Plus, as far as dinner goes, pizza is one thing that you definitely benefit from a mixer, so pizza it was.
I've never made my own dough. So this was a first for me. It was sooooo simple.
What ya need:
3 cups all purpose flour
1 (.25) package of active dry yeast
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp white sugar
1 cup warm water
Garlic, Garlic Powder, Oregano to taste
1. Combine flour, salt, sugar, yeast, garlic and oregano in a large bowl. Mix in oil and warm water.

2. Here you have an option. If you have time, you can let this dough rise. This, however, is a quick-fix dough, so you can also spread it out on a large pizza pan immediately.
3. Prebake dough without toppings for 5 minutes
4. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes or until crust is browned and cheese is melted.
Here is the sauce I made... yes you can use store bought sauce here. I was feeling adventurous and so I decided to make the entire pie from scratch.
What ya need:
2 ripe tomatos (or one of diced tomatoes, drained)
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp fresh basil
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
1/4 tsp white sugar
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tbsp olive oil
1. Combine everything in a food processor. Blend without liquefying...You want it to remain chunky and delicious!
2. Done!
Woohoo... now all you need is your toppings. I'm not a purist with pizza. I love love love pineapple (so does Alex) so that's what we used. I would recommend using fresh mozzarella OR buying a hunk of it and grating it yourself... very aromatic and yummy. Just top and bake!!
This pizza is a cinch and so much better than delivery. It's also a lot of ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. Enjoy!!
